Software Requirements:
1. This website can be a forum or some portal site like digg.com, but I prefer a portal integrated with forum
2. The site owner is an affiliate of many many online retailing stores like circuitcity, bestbuy, etc. The revenue is from the commission when a user do shopping through clicking links on the site that have the site owner\'s affiliate ID\'s. A portion (say 1 - 8%) of the commission will be rewarded to users who shop though the affiliate links. This website shall track user\'s transactions - e.g. track whether the user makes a purchase or not and at which merchant.
3. Users post and read good deals shopping information on the site. The person who post the original post will also be rewarded by a portion of the commission. In this way, almost everyone wants to be the original poster so that they can make money as well.
4. Regarding the backend for site administrator:
a. Enable administrator to add as many affiliates as possible and set cash back rate for individual affiliate.
b. Enable administrator to keep track of the commission, and the rewards allocated to original posters and shoppers.
c. Process cashback requests. For example, the cashback rewards are available 90 days after shopping, the users can request cash from the site through a list of payment methods like paypal or check.
The software shall be stable, secure and easily maintainable. You can start off by hacking some open source forums like simple machine forums or any portals like digg under GPL/GNU license. As long as you can implement the requirements above successfully, I don\'t care what open source application you hack. Anyone who is capable of doing this probject, please bid!!!!
